Review on EUGNN Aluminum Measurement Adjustment Accessory by Donnie Boss

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent - with some caveats

in first place - I bought this when it was sort of heavily discounted, way below the $20 range it's in now. However, it still costs 20ish. I have owned and used the Park Tool TM-1 for many years. However, I just wanted to pull something I was less concerned about from the regular shop for a quick voltage comparison check. Also, I haven't calibrated my park for a long time. WHY I LOVE IT and why I gave it a high rating - A) it's well built and the two plates don't have an attachment point like my park (and I've seen other people's comments) B) it works as well or better than any other similar tool . C) It can be used to check average spoke tension just as (and fairly cheaply) as any more expensive tool, which is usually your biggest problem. You really only use this to make sure all the spokes are fairly evenly tensioned on the same side of the wheel. This is a great comparison tool. WARNINGS - A) The absolute calibration as obtained is most likely wrong - using the chart and comparing this to my TM-1 it's about 20kgf. However, if you're just using it for voltage matching/comparison, it's not that big of a deal. Or you can calibrate it too - multiple methods can be used and it's just one calibration screw. I suspect it can be calibrated to match my fleet numbers (after I calibrate it). Conclusion: for the price you pay, it's worth the money. If you're a professional wheel builder, don't start with that. But for basic home repairs, when you find loose spokes and want to use more than one "peel test", that's fine. If properly calibrated I would say it is better than the TM-1.

Pros
  • Material: Aluminum alloy body, stainless steel screw, this spoke tension meter is strong enough to use.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
