Today I used a knife for the first time to cut up the leftover boneless turkey breast I cooked for Thanksgiving. The slicer isn't commercial quality, but it sliced a pound of turkey cleanly and quickly with no jams. As long as you follow the manufacturer's instructions, it does what it's supposed to do. Cleaning the blade is easy, just remove and wash. The rest of the device is not as simple, but no worse than with large commercial food slicers. A minor note is that the blade isn't as sharp as it could be, but that's an easy fix. Open the cutting gap completely, start the machine and sharpen the cutting edge with a whetstone, done. Either way, you'll need to sharpen it regularly, so it's a good idea to have a stone for that.
