I ordered an 8.5 and.honestly, I'm surprised. Usually it's a bit of a gamble as to whether or not an 8.5 will be true to size, and it often seems to run small in most cases. But this is actually a little bit larger than an 8.5 I think, so I feel like I might have been able to get away with an 8. It's not so roomy that it's going to be a problem, of course. They fit very well along the foot, but the calf seems a little more narrow than expected, and I don't have wide calves at all. It's snug but not worryingly tight, at least.There's plenty of padding inside, and they're quite warm. They seem to be well-made, particularly the sole and tread, and the whole waterproofing deal seems solid, though that bit doesn't go up very far so I don't think they'd do so well if you're traipsing through a ton of snow or slush. There's no arch support, or.if there is, it's negligible, but that's fine for me since most of the arch support in shoes actually ends up hurting my feet.
