Well, the obvious pluses of this cable:--Looks great--Works great--Powerful MiniToslink connector What I didn't expect is that it will save me from my own stupidity . One day I put my laptop on a small basket because it was convenient. Next, a cat runs past, hitting him and BAM - the laptop tips over and lands squarely on the headphone jack in an almost Olympic attempt to break something inside my computer. I approach expecting trouble, but instead the cable snapped. neat, about 3mm from the side of my computer. They made a mini toslink tip/head with what appeared to be a thick base, inserted a fiber channel into the connector tip, and then formed a connector shell around the base of the connector. Advice - great design, respect! This allows you to make the cable strong, but not so strong that it breaks the computer; while still allowing the miniToslink tip to be strong enough that you don't get trapped in the port. The sheath broke of course (I mean it had the laptop arm itself on it) but it was even able to slide the miniToslink tip back onto the bare fiber optic cable and accidentally insert it back into the sheath - obviously it falls easily apart, but this is a temporary fix until a new one arrives.
