Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Your Audio Experience with the TOPPING PA3 Desktop HiFi Digital Amplifier in Black by David Urbanski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best Class D ChiFi amp I've tried is very good.

This is a great little amp and I love its simplicity. Over the past year I have owned and/or listened to amplifiers from Classe, Krell, Raven Audio, Yamaha, Emotiva, Parasound, FX Audio, Audiosource and Fosi Audio, and receivers from Denon and Technics. I hooked up an Emotiva XDA2 Dac to this little topping amp and it sounds better than any unit I've listened to except Krell, Classe and Raven Audio (Nighthawk, Blackhawk and Osprey tube amps). I'd say it sounds slightly better than the Emotiva Stereo Flex BasX A-100, which costs over twice as much, as the Raven Audio amps were the only ones that definitely sounded better (tube amps). This little amp didn't sound tight at any volume, and I played it at high volumes from time to time. It has excellent dynamics, soundstage, visualization, separation of instruments and details. With these little Class D amps from China, you need to find the chip that powers them and see how much power they put out with the included power supply (as they usually deliver their full rated power at 10% distortion, which is useless). ). Coming with a TDA7498E chip and a 32V power supply, this amp puts out a solid 53 watts per channel x 2 into 8 ohms and around 67 watts per channel into 4 ohms with a reasonable level of distortion, probably less than 0.3%. I don't think you can beat this amp for the price.

Pros
  • Looks good
