Poor quality control, potential fire hazard

Worked fine for a while and then one day I pushed the input switch, felt a build up of static electricity and heard a popping noise in the case. No more audio output. Looking inside, I found that the heatsink on top of the amplifier chip was not properly secured (the screws underneath were loose) and the chip itself exploded. Both the circuit board and the cooler have burned out.

Nothing beats a loose screw in the device

Have an amplifier. Took it out and it rattled like a screw inside the case had come loose. Okay, open the case and see which screw inside was missing. He took out the allen wrenches and loosened the screws holding the case. Couldn't turn things around. The screw still rattles in the case. No one in their right mind would turn on an amp with loose metal contacts. That's build quality for you. . .

Nice little amp in receiver and amp

I've used them with a Micca RB42 which some people think takes a lot of power. But when I compare this little amp to the 200 watts per channel Sunfire amp, I see very little difference in tone/volume when using it at the table. If you're using it in the living room or far away, a larger amp will help with the "bounce" on the bass, but in my opinion most people will more than get a smaller amp like the Topping PA3 feeding a Micca RB42 be satisfied when used at the table. .

Great little desktop amp

This is my second topping product so I was sure it would be a good experience. I have a 2017 27" iMac. The amp connects to the headphone/speaker out jack. I'm on input 1 and have the volume turned up about 3/4. I use the volume knob on my keyboard to drive my speakers to Bose Acoustimass 3s, two tiny satellites with a separate woofer They sit on small stands to the left and right of the computer and the woofer sits on the floor next to my desk Computer audio system for music, movies or YouTube…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

A worthy successor to the TP22

I've been using the TP22 topping for a few years now, use it in my living room and love it! I decided to add speakers to my garage and was planning to buy another TP22 but was disappointed to find that the TP22 appeared to be discontinued. Luckily I found a PA3 in my garage which I now use to power my Micca MB42X speakers. The combination sounds great! It's loud enough for my needs and is crystal clear across the range. As with the TP22, the volume toggle and knob feel absolutely clean; I don't

The best Class D ChiFi amp I've tried is very good.

This is a great little amp and I love its simplicity. Over the past year I have owned and/or listened to amplifiers from Classe, Krell, Raven Audio, Yamaha, Emotiva, Parasound, FX Audio, Audiosource and Fosi Audio, and receivers from Denon and Technics. I hooked up an Emotiva XDA2 Dac to this little topping amp and it sounds better than any unit I've listened to except Krell, Classe and Raven Audio (Nighthawk, Blackhawk and Osprey tube amps). I'd say it sounds slightly better than the Emotiva…

Great little desktop amp!

I bought this amp to power a pair of Polk RT25i in-wall speakers using my computer as a source. It doesn't look or feel cheap compared to some cheap Class D amps like this one. The case is aluminum with a great finish, plus it's very small so it doesn't take up much space on my desk! The power supply is gigantic but seems to be well made, delivers 32 volts and sits on the floor. There are two sets of RCA inputs on the rear, which are toggled via the front panel power button, along with a set of
