Review on Waterproof Hard Case For DJI Air 2S Drone, Mavic Air 2 Combo & Accessories - Lekufee by Barbara Lopes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Almost perfect case for your Mavic Air 2 or Mavic Air 2s.

This is a pretty good case. And, I'll get to the 'pros' or the good stuff later. But, first, let's talk about the 'cons'. Even though the lining foam is very well cut the the shape of the drone, and has plenty of room for batteries and other accessories, it still has a few drawbacks. One, the foam is so stiff that it really won't absorb much of the impact. This is the primary reason for using foam instead of, let's say, rigid plastic. It's still better than just letting the drone bang around in an empty case. But, they could have done better.Next, they COULD have included a pocket SOMEWHERE to contain booklets, instructions, small parts etc. This case is actually big enough that they could have included a hinged divider with the eggcrate packing on one side and more storage space on the back. As it is, you just have to dump all your small stuff in one of the square spaces in the case and hope they don't fall out of that space and get scattered throughout the case. Finally, and this is my main gripe. The case is designed to accommodate a proprietary shoulder strap (made exactly to fit this case). However, the seller has found it unnecessary to include that shoulder strap or even offer it as an option. In fact, with as many questions as were asked about the slots on the case and a shoulder strap, the seller has yet to offer an intelligent reply. So sad. Even though I am going to keep this case and use it, it's only because I don't do a lot of traveling and this case will mainly be used for storage. That, and I just don't want to go through the hassle of finding another case. Now, for the pros: The case is large enough to hold the quad, with a battery installed, three more batts, the controller (standard or pro), multi-charger plate, lens filter set and all of the other peripherals, plus any other accessories that would be appropriate for this drone (except the landing pad). The case is very ruggedly designed and built. It's super sturdy and I could probably jump up and down on it without damaging the drone inside. (But, because nothing fits super snug and the foam is very stiff, slamming it around like would be done in most baggage handling scenarios may cause some damage.)The new design of the closures make them more like modern luggage and less like a pelican case. The operation of these closures is much simpler and easier. There is a one way valve that will equalize the air pressure in the case to high altitudes, but prevent air from re-entering at lower altitudes. This is good to control the amount of humidity that gets in.The neoprene gasket that seals the case is very well done. Even the seam closing the loop is done well. Thus, improving the air tight seal of the case. The folding handle is super rigid, is NOT coming loose or off and has the hard rubber grip that makes it a little easier to handle. It seems that the maker of the case tried to deal with the basics and did an 'okay' job. But, not great. Then, the seller has taken that product and made it less attractive by leaving out a very pertinent component. So, yes. I'm keeping it. Just to store my new Mavic Air 2s in. Not to transport. If I really were traveling a lot, and taking my Air 2s with me, I would not have chosen this case. 2 stars.Update: I am returning it. It's too expensive and bulky to use for storage alone.

Pros
  • Collectible Display & Storage
Cons
  • It may attract more attention due to its bright color, making it an easy target for theft
