I've had a clear projector for many years, but it wasn't designed for constant video game use. After the 3rd lamp she finally died. My cable is no longer compatible with the new projector. Since my cable goes to where the projector is in the walls, I needed a long cable. HDMI was just coming out when I bought it and my projector had a DVI connection. HDMI has been the current standard ever since, and for who knows how long. But buying the right length of cable is expensive, so this adapter saved me a decent amount of money and gave me very good picture quality too. Not 4K, but we're not quite ready to upgrade the receiver, cable and projector just yet.
