This works great, especially for Apple displays as only the latest Thunderbolt displays work with USB-C. Older Apple displays are frequency locked to 60Hz, so this adapter is required. While not perfect, it's solidly built, no issues with this adapter.

I bought a couple of these but didn't use them for their intended purpose thought I might use them for something else later. Something finally came up this week. I needed to connect a large smart TV to my laptop as an external monitor. That does not work. Luckily my TV also had a VGA port so I used a VGA to VGA cable/connector and it worked.

I've had a clear projector for many years, but it wasn't designed for constant video game use. After the 3rd lamp she finally died. My cable is no longer compatible with the new projector. New laptops don't have a VGA output anymore, so I ordered an adapter for my 27 inch monitor that doesn't have an HDMI port. It works great and the picture quality is amazing. Now I'm glad I have an extended display and don't have to connect a long cable to the monitor. I also use it for my PS3 and Chromebook with no problems.

Works as advertised. A little tricky to connect, it just means it's tight tolerances. Although it should be noted that I had problems using Android MHL, this is not a problem, I bought it for my laptop, not a phone or tablet. I only used it for testing on my tablet as it was less cumbersome. As noted by others. NO SOUND OUT, again no problem. I prefer laptop speakers to anything I have now. I hooked it up to a Full HD monitor and contrary to other reviews I can easily get Full HD on it.

For work I often have to open 3-4 different screens at the same time. I bought two ultra-wide monitors for this.
