Review on CLOVER 3016/16-03 Takumi Bamboo Circular 16-Inch Size 3 Knitting Needles: High-Quality Craft Tools for Perfect Stitching by Morgan Gilmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good basic needle

I knitted a wool hat out of sock yarn with a #1 needle. I have used bamboo needles for many years. I like Takumi circular needles because the cords don't break; I'm hard on my needles. Size 1 has a sharp point; I needed a sharp point because I made the stitches very tight. These needles knit clothes fast, almost as fast as metal. Bamboo helps maintain an even thickness even with slippery yarns. They may appear to swell up a bit when wet, but this isn't a problem for most projects, especially smaller projects like socks, mittens, scarves, and hats. I knit freely and I knit fast. Since I knit loosely, the stitches transfer easily. But even with a needle no. 1 and single crochet I was able to transfer the stitches without any problems. I like the feel of bamboo more than cold metal. I noticed that the little needles have a metal part that connects the needle to the string; This prevents the cord from coming off the needle and aids in stitch transfer. I don't know if it is made with larger sizes.
