Good replacement for broken tailgate strut

The frame I replaced failed for an unusual reason and I also had to replace the ball stud (I used https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B081K4NDFB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details) which I removed and installed the ball stud with a crescent wrench (thrown away the spare nut) and the new strut snapped in and still works great.
