Review on Outward Hound Kyjen Excursion Dog Backpack: Superior Quality for Canine Adventures by Michelle Ortiz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Bought for hiking and camping with our pitbulls

We bought one of these many years ago from a local store and it was in very good condition so we decided to buy extra packs for hiking with multiple dogs. Ideal for burning off excess energy in energetic dogs. We pack chilled 20 ounce bottled water in backpacks to keep the dogs cool and a collapsible water bowl to keep them hydrated on our hikes. This is the perfect size for them to carry their food during primitive camping, as well as water and collapsible paraphernalia. We bought the medium ones as they tend to be a bit too big and fit our entire backpack, the smallest is 38lbs and the largest is 82lbs for a dog. Belt, waist and chest straps are adjustable and the snaps are extra padded so they don't irritate our dogs. The handle on the back makes it easy to get in and out of when we walk out the door and our dogs took to it very quickly. Just make sure you distribute the weight evenly when using them. We make adjustments to packaged material when we take water breaks. If you are looking for a budget backpack option for your energetic dog, this backpack is for you. Not indestructible but so far we haven't had any issues with it and have been using our first pack for 3 years now. Very happy with our purchase and would recommend to a friend.
