The new iPhone XR has a privacy screen that extends to the edges of the phone. It's not like the old iPhones where you can drop them and crack the black part of the phone and still be fully functional. If the iPhone XR breaks, there will be a significant loss of functionality and this could be an immediate reason for an expensive new screen replacement. I chose this screen protector because of the materials that came with it (manual and high-quality screen protector). I think 3 screen protectors might be overkill, but I'd rather have 3 than 1 just in case I mess up the app or it breaks. I've just put 2 other protectors in a storage box and if I get any dents, cracks or significant scratches on the one I'm using I'll just replace them.
