I see bad reviews that the device is dead from the start and there is no communication between small terminals. It should be so. This solenoid is grounded through the mounting base. To the small S terminal, connect the positive wire from the key. That's all you need to activate the solenoid. The other small terminal is the positive lead from the main terminals. Its purpose is to turn on an indicator light letting you know the solenoid has activated. Broken cases or missing hardware are one thing, but at least know how to wire things up before you give a bad review. Mine came in good condition with all the hardware. I will have no problem buying another one.
