This carpet is much heavier than I expected. After removing the tags, I washed the carpet. I was a little worried that it would be too big and heavy for my HE washing machine. Also, I expected the carpet to fall off a lot in the dryer. I tried it in the washing machine. It erases great. No issues with the weight in the washing machine although I would recommend washing this rug on its own. I was surprised to see that there was no noticeable hair loss in the dryer. The carpet came out perfect after washing and drying. I ordered this rug to put in front of my 60 inch walk in shower. The carpet fits perfectly. Having used it for over a week I am impressed with the "cushion" and the fact that the rug does not move across the floor. It keeps water off my wet feet very well when I get out of the shower. This rug works so well I ordered two smaller ones to put in front of the tub and vanity. I washed it in the HE washer dryer every 2-3 weeks. The backing falls off in the dryer as small plastic particles that stick to the front of the rug. These particles are very difficult to remove even with a vacuum. I cannot recommend this rug. I replaced it with a 100% cotton rug with no plastic backing.
