The 5/8" shank on this tool was a real problem . Trying to find a drill or drill that could handle it was a real problem. Many drill bits say 5/8" but don't expand enough to handle that shank. Eventually I was able to find a drill at Harbor Freight that could handle it, but the drill couldn't provide enough torque to cut through the wood. Even with the slightest possible down pressure, the drill's belts slipped and I ended up using a screwdriver through the hole to turn it by hand to create the plug I needed. While I can't argue with the quality of the drill bit produced, you essentially need an industrial grade drill press to use it. However, the bit was sharp and clean cut.
