I think this product would be a lot better if it was a fine thread rather than a chunky one. There is a lot of strain on the cords as the weight of the trailer tries to push the tongue up and down and prevent that movement. I've only used it on a 3000# pontoon trailer and while it worked great for a couple of trips on the water, both nuts broke when I tried to remove it to replace the hitch for my other trailer. Threads were one-sided. My 1/2" impact wrench didn't even move them, so I just cut them off with a grinder. I'll look for a replacement that's slightly better made and hopefully has thinner or stronger threads.
