Review on TNP IR Infrared Remote Control Extender Repeater Cable (8.2 Feet) - USB Powered System Kit for Enhanced IR Signal Receiver & IR Emitter Blaster Extension by Shawn Tolbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Update: Doesn't work reliably.

UPDATE: Received a replacement today. I installed and tested it, so far so good. The time will show. I'm increasing my rating to a 4. While there are many negative reviews about cable length, I knew it would be easy for me to fix this issue. However, when I plugged it in, it didn't repeat the IR signal. The receiver lights up to show it's receiving, but nothing happens on the transmitter side. I held the transmitter directly in front of the Blu-Ray player and nothing. I've tried placing the transmitter in several places, still to no avail. I know it's not Blu-Ray as it works with multiple remotes even if it bounces off the ceiling. However, if the TV is pushed all the way to the back, the reflection signal will no longer work, so a repeater will be needed. Out of curiosity, I've been tracking the station with my phone's camera and it's broadcasting, but very sporadically. It worked the first time, but after a few tries it stopped. He's definitely wrong. I will give the manufacturer a second chance and make an equivalent exchange before giving up completely and trying another product.

Pros
  • Compatible with most AV equipment with infrared (non-RF) sensors
Cons
  • Wrinkled
