You need this item for Accessories & Consumables

If you don't want to see your stereo system but want to use it, this is for you. I tried another brand plugged into my stereo but it didn't work. This guy only transmits the RF signal and had no problems. It needs USB power.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Secret

Useless type Best in Remotes and Accessories

So the IR sensor is pretty much connected to the USB cable and you only have about 5 inches of slack. The IR receiver is a good length and if the sensor was the same length I wouldn't be returning the cable. If your device does not have an "always-on" USB port, or if your device will be less than 5 inches from an electrical outlet, this cable may come in handy. Otherwise, stay away and spend your extra cash on a real IR repeater.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Too long to wait

OK, not perfect. on Remote Controls and Accessories

Works great but the cable between USB and transmitter is only about 30cm long. This may require a USB extension cable to position the transmitter. Also, no power supply is included. But that's not surprising given the price. At this point, most people have a few spare USB power adapters if they don't have a spare port handy. TIP: Blue-Tac is excellent for RX and TX assembly. as needed. (This is a low-stick putty that you use like chewing gum)

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Short instructions

Good thing: Works well with my receiver and dish controller. It's easy to install once you figure out how it works as there were no instructions. You get a USB cable with a transmitter box (small box) which I put in front of my dish receiver and on the other end is an IR receiver (large box) which after turning the flat side against the wall, had worked. There's a USB port for power about 6 inches from the small box. The device is only suitable for working in one room, since it is a single…

Update: Doesn't work reliably.

UPDATE: Received a replacement today. I installed and tested it, so far so good. The time will show. I'm increasing my rating to a 4. While there are many negative reviews about cable length, I knew it would be easy for me to fix this issue. However, when I plugged it in, it didn't repeat the IR signal. The receiver lights up to show it's receiving, but nothing happens on the transmitter side. I held the transmitter directly in front of the Blu-Ray player and nothing. I've tried placing the…
