works on 2004 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0, how to program the key: 1. Cut off the keys 2. Insert and turn the original key to turn on the dashboard but not the engine - wait for the beep to end 3. Do the same with the second original key4. Insert a new key, wait for the beep to end, and then start the engine to check. To program the key fob: 1. Insert the working key into the car and turn the key 8 times (without starting the engine), then finish with the key in the pre-start (dashboard/radio) position, make sure that all doors are closed and unlocked and you are done quickly. it may take a few tries.2. The car should automatically lock and then unlock to indicate you are in programming mode3. Press any button on the new key fob. You should see the car lock and unlock it again to show the fob has been programmed.4. Delete key to exit programming mode
