In a way I shouldn't consider them because I never had them. But two people I've worked with both had a pair (so I never had to buy them!) and we've always been amazed at what these things can do! These things will cut through just about anything the jaws can reach. We had something hard that we needed to cut off (maybe a stainless steel screw or something) and even the big, well known branded side cutters we couldn't pull through, they flexed and flexed, making funny faces. , strange noises and your hands will hurt. We joked, "Break the Knipex," and these things caught on like nothing. I mean we'd scratch our heads at how well they worked. They have a really strong head design with lots of leverage and they just don't flex when you really put weight on them like other cutters do and that makes all the difference. Admit it, the Germans know how to do good, it's as simple as that. You get what you pay for, these are serious cutters. To update; Years later I finally broke down and bought a pair! I had to, although I was now retired and doing almost no mechanical work, I didn't really have to spend any more money on tools. I NEED to have a pair of these! :) And they have already come in handy. As I said in the beginning, they WILL cut through things regular cutters barely scratch, you WILL be stunned when you see what these things can put you through. Even though I don't need as many tools as I used to, I still "need" them! :)
