I was expecting a product called Heavy Cotton to be what we consider heavy and cotton like the Gildan Ultra Cotton T-shirts I've purchased in the past have. I wasn't happy to find out they're a 50-50 cotton/poly blend, which is fine if that's what you want, but I was looking for something that breathes like 100% cotton or 95% cotton. It doesn't, which means I keep them for when I need better insulation, but they're too hot to wear when the temps rise. They're not very heavy either, which leads me to suspect that what Gildan calls Heavy Cotton is a branding or marketing name they use to hide the fact that it's not heavy or pure cotton. However, they are inexpensive. Tear labels are good, but the material itself isn't printed, which means I'll eventually forget the size, material, and manufacturer, which seems a bit strange. I've bought a lot of cotton briefs and t-shirts from Gildan over the past ten years because the quality has skyrocketed from Fruit of the Loom and then Hanes. I hope this doesn't mean Gildan will also switch to cheap, inferior products that I can't afford money for. If so, that's a shame, I've been a very satisfied customer so far.
