Review on πŸ“· Black Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader (TS-RDF8K) for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards by Allan Lambert

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Only works about 3 times.

This card reader works fine a few times and then fails. I bought a Transend USB 3 RDF8 about a year ago. I figured the built in reader in my computer wouldn't last long as it's over 5 years old with an older USB 2. My computer card reader was just starting to go haywire, so I pulled out the transend and plugged it in. Even plugged into USB 2 on my computer, this reader worked great. while it worked. This only worked 3 times when uploading photos from SD card. Since it didn't work for a very long time, I thought it was the card because my internal reader didn't recognize the card either. but. I have found that I can hold the SD card in the slot by pushing it in firmly so that it recognizes the card and then holding it while I work on files. When I let go, it turns off. If only I had to copy and paste a few photos from the card. Well, thank goodness the cable is long enough to reach my keyboard with a card reader in hand to hold Shift while selecting files to copy. At least I still have an internal card reader. old like that. I just bought a small Kingston USB 3 portable card reader and am hoping it will outlast the transend.
