Review on Handcrafted Kaleidoscope Educational Set by V Empire: Exquisite Collection by David Foster

Great little kaleidoscope

I bought this kaleidoscope to add another gem to my steampunk artifacts. It's a little smaller than advertised, but I was looking for a small, compact device that would be easy to take to activities to keep the kids entertained. The scope itself is actually 4.5 inches (143mm) long, and the diameter of the objective lens (where the colored elements are located) is about 1 inch (25mm). Box dimensions 5.5 x 2.5 x 1.9 inches (140 x 64 x 48 mm). The two pieces are securely packed in a foam-padded box, and the backlight closes tightly and securely with a clasp. The handle is held in a separate location. and screwed into the eyepiece. The clear color pieces I had were cobalt blue, teal, dark green, emerald green, yellow, terracotta orange, and brick red. The orange and red details were very close to the same color and not as transparent as the others. The colors were not as vivid as I would like. I found that I could unscrew the eyepiece with the paint. I used a piece of leather to grab it and twist it gently. to tie or secure the threads as they only have a few turns. I thought these short strands could be improved as more strands would hold them more securely and be easier to reattach. I plan to completely replace or insert some of my own work by adding amethyst or purple to the plastic cover. Space is tight so rice grain sized pieces would be better but overall I'm happy with my purchase.
