Works well and can be reused but leaves a faint image

I usually just paint straight from nature; But when I want to transfer a specific sketch I made onto canvas, I love this blue saral transfer paper. It doesn't contain wax, so it doesn't change my colors when I apply them later. Also, unlike traditional carbon paper, there is no powdery dirt or stains on it. I place a piece of this blue transfer paper onto my canvas along with an overlay of my previous sketch and secure with bulldog clips. I trace the outlines and key details of my sketch with a different colored ink pen (so you can see where you've already traced). When you remove the transfer paper and draw, the remaining blue image is faint but visible. If I want to apply a darker wash or imprimatur before painting, I will outline the blue lines with a black or brown permanent marker with a fine dot that shows through the imprimatur stain. Because the blue version of Saral is non-photographic, there is no need to clean up the blue image before transferring your work in progress to the camera. Saral produces transfer paper in other colors (white, yellow, red and standard graphite). I also like the white version for use on dark surfaces.
