Beautiful Ink

Juicy, thin, bright colors. What more could you want from a pen? I'm a fan of markers and pens. (It's a fancy term for a freak, curmudgeon, etc.) I have pretty much every marker and pen you can find and I'm sadly eager to get more. I bought a set of these years ago but wasn't impressed - they dried out quickly leaving streaky, washed out color when I tried to fill small spaces/details with them. After someone on You Tube used them in combination with stamped images to make some postcards, my curiosity skyrocketed and I wanted to try again. When I bought them for a little over $13 I thought they were a bit pricey, but since you can't take them with you it's a lot more fun to spend on your own than leave them to an "heritage". (Whoever you give them to, they probably won't waste them on something remotely as fun as art, so go for it - you're making the world a nicer place. hee hee) They arrived quickly with Prime and I had to work with them immediately. I bought them specifically to add some small details to my art and they didn't disappoint. General. The fine 0.3mm line is ideal for fine writing, filling in small areas with colour, or fine doodling. I generally prefer a thicker nib, and my handwriting is naturally large and wavy, so I get carried away easily. Small, beautiful writing, doodles or drawings are not my forte. Not even my usual style. Sometimes you need to break with your norm and make a change, for at least one reason other than avoiding monotony. Monotonous art is no fun. Much better to break out of the box and shake things up! The beauty of these pens is in the ink. Colors are surprisingly bright and vibrant, and even I have no problem drawing thin lines or small, detailed writing. The color is even, does not flow. The pens are smooth and comfortable to hold, although I didn't do a lot of pages with them. They are water resistant even when dry - none of the drawings I drew were damaged when I put water on the page which I think is a great thing about these pens. There's nothing worse than painting or writing a bunch on a page and then watching it all disappear when you stick some watercolor or whatever on the page. This won't happen to them! Conclusion: I'm glad I added it to my pen bank. The colors are beautiful, the pens are easy to work with, and the ink is waterproof. The pens feel comfortable in my hand and I love the fine detail I can create with them and would highly recommend them if you are interested in art journaling, mixed media, card making etc. A great addition to any creative toolbox!
