Yes the volume contol for the alarm is separate from the volume for the sleep sounds

I wondered about this myself. Yes you can keep the volume setting lower for the sleep sounds and absolutely blast the volume on the alarm. There are 6 different alarm sounds. I like the old school ring. It will progressively get louder in seconds. You can set how many minutes you want for your snooze setting. Set a timer for the sleep sounds to auto shut off in 15 minute increments. This little box pretty much has all the features you want. Yes it also has two alarms. When I say it is a little clock, check the scale. I thought it was going to be larger. Trust me, you will be happy with how loud it can get. The dim function for the face is also a blessing so you don't have to cover it up to sleep.
