Firestick keeps suggesting to connect the remote via Bluetooth :(

All functions (volume up/down, power) seem to work fine after setup (using old Firestick TV/original TV remote) BUT Firestick TV keeps asking to connect remote (via bluetooth) every few minutes, pauses whatever is playing. very annoying. still wondering if I should bring this back!
