So not a real blemish. It's strong, but not enough to crush something like a 3/4 inch water pipe. The jaw will bend and break as it separates from the center slide bar. Also, the threaded portion of the vise only has a couple of retaining rings to hold it, allowing the jaw to remain in place when opening and closing the lead screw. These locking rings also fly away when the center rail is flexed, and from that point on the vise jaw no longer follows the opening and closing of the lead screw, which forces you to push the jaw further into the open position when you unscrew the vise. Nice strong clamp not even close to hardened steel type. I know these companies have better vises and I think to meet the demand for less expensive vises they came up with this but maybe it should have some warnings and maybe some strength and tension charts to compare with more expensive ones versions. I would say it did some good, but not for a year.
