Don't waste your money on this

Don't waste your money on this. The middle guide rod is weak, which causes the jaw alignment to be distorted when tightened on the object. The central bar is curved so that the jaws are wide on the clamped object and narrow on the empty side of the vise. So it is best to place the object in the middle of the vise. But even then, this vice could only be classified as weak and sloppy at best. I want a refund and an apology from this company.

Recommended for light loads

I'm writing this review after breaking this vice. The review was heavily influenced, not by the fact that I broke it, but more by the experience that led to the "disaster". I give four stars even though I only had a vise for 1.5 years. (I broke it in two places by twisting a 1/2" metal rod while trying to bend it.) Considering its size and weight, it worked well in most cases. Corkscrew portions worked well and smoothly, and the small anvil area worked well for small hammering needs. Will I…

Good clamp. Not as good as vice.

So not a real blemish. It's strong, but not enough to crush something like a 3/4 inch water pipe. The jaw will bend and break as it separates from the center slide bar. Also, the threaded portion of the vise only has a couple of retaining rings to hold it, allowing the jaw to remain in place when opening and closing the lead screw. These locking rings also fly away when the center rail is flexed, and from that point on the vise jaw no longer follows the opening and closing of the lead screw…
