My cat hates getting in the vehicle. We traveled extensively for 3 months. She resisted going in the first few times, but settled in and traveled very well. I secured it in the vehicle with a seatbelt through the straps. We took her out with us when we stopped for lunch while on the road. Thanks to the short leash attached on the inside, I could open it and feel secure that she couldn't jump out. I chose this backpack for a few reasons (durability and size, etc.), but the most important was that our cat could lay at the bottom surrounded by solid fabric (no mesh) so that not only did she feel secure, but I could also take her places without it being obvious she was even in there. After 3 months of travel, it still looks like new. I highly recommend it!
