I'm spoiled. I have had quality glass for many years. I took my good pair of binoculars to work on a Mississippi kite watching from my office window. I kept forgetting to take them home and then getting annoyed that I didn't have them. I bird watch so much at home or on hikes that I decided to buy an inexpensive pair to keep in the office. I didn't want to spend too much and the reviews said it was a great pair for the money. I'm sure, but the resolution wasn't anywhere near what I wanted or needed (probably because I'm spoiled with other binoculars). Focusing isn't very smooth and I didn't like how the eyecups fitted my glasses. Contrast and color were poor, and the field of view wasn't very good. In low light they were useless. So for $60 you get what you pay for. I don't really like them, but that's not the binoculars' fault. That's what a $60 pair should be. I just had to bite the bullet and move on to at least one pair with an average budget in the $300 range, and maybe I wouldn't have been so disappointed. I think it would be great for beginner kids but if you want a good experience save your money and buy better glass.
