The sizing is a bit misleading. When the Velcro is loosened, the plastic end of the strap prevents either end of the strap from detaching from the watch. So, to put the watch on your wrist, your hand must go through the loop that the strap forms with the watch. At first it was difficult to pick up the watch. I've been using the strap for about a month and during that time it has stretched and now fits my arm easily. I wear a medium sized men's glove and the circumference of my hand when I put the watch on is about 9.25 inches. Because the hook portion of the Velcro does not stick to itself, the actual maximum wrist size is about 7.5 inches (can go up to 8.2 inches if you spend a lot of time stretching the strap). The velcro works well. No signs of clogged hooks. If you have a very small hand, the watch is unlikely to fall if the Velcro comes loose.
