It definitely does what it says it does. I can move the camera a few inches away from the subject to make the photos look like macros. My only downside is that it has a very limited prime range. This means you lose all of the lens' flexibility except for macro photography. So expect to be shooting right in front of the camera. Also, I can't put the lens cap on this filter. I have to be careful when I have this filter enabled.
