I did "buff water bottles" on my tank before finding this gem. It fits my Marineland Maxi-Jet 600 and 1200. I have both and they work the same. The filter that comes with the kit is really good, but you shouldn't change it after use. You can use a cutout suitable for quilted poly-fil batting or any cutout suitable for filter media found at Revain. I use "Aqua-Flo 12" pond and aquarium filter media, 72 inches (6 feet) long and 1 inch thick (green/white) on mine and it works great. This is a great option for a secondary filter or a filter that you can use while cleaning. Do you really want to see clean water? Try it!
