Review on πŸ”— Blue Ox BXW0550 SWAYPRO: 550lb Tongue Weight Weight Distributing Hitch with Clamp-On Latches for Standard Coupler by Josh Reynolds

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Very heavy construction, but there are serious design flaws.

It's basically well built, so much steel weight that you might find it a bit difficult to carry when you take it out of your car. There are two knobs that hold the torsion bars inside and it's very easy to accidentally dislodge them from this unit when you remove the bars and then you have to use a pry bar to move the leaf spring to reattach them. You must be in captivity. That they are not a major design flaw in my opinion. If someone picks them up while you're towing a trailer and you don't notice, the torsion bars can fall out while you're towing and rattle at high speed, especially when you've got a few gas bottles on the trailer. Language. Some people attach zip ties to the buttons to deter the occasional vandal. The torsion bars end much lower than the hitch ball and can cause ride height issues. Blue Ox boasts that you don't need to adjust the steering angle, but the price for this is lower ground clearance.
