Review on Sperry Instruments VC61000 Volt Check Voltage & Continuity Tester: Reliable Black & Yellow Electrical Testing Tool by Brian Barnes

It will work. to voltage testers

First I'll tell you what I liked about this tester and second I'll tell you what I didn't like. This tester has a nice loud through tone. The non-contact voltage detector is a nice extra feature that works very well. Depending on your preference, you might like the thinner body of this tester. I've had testers that feel thick in the hand, but this one is comfortable for me. I like two separate test leads. I hate testers that have a separate line and one built into the tester. Now for what I didn't like. There is a plastic screw holding the battery compartment in place. I hate this. C'mon Sperry, how much did you really save using a plastic screw versus a heavier duty metal screw!? It's cheap and the tester feels cheap. I recommend replacing the plastic screw with one you can find in the hardware section of any major store, as you'll need to replace it sooner or later anyway. I don't really care about test lines. Probes should be longer. They work great in regular outlets, but I've also tried testing a 240 volt outlet and it was very difficult, almost impossible, because the test probes didn't go far enough into the outlet. The last thing I didn't like was the system they devised for attaching test probes during use and storage. I think that's a bit of nonsense. Test tips want to slip down when plugged into sockets. It's not a bad tester in my opinion, but it does appear to be of lower quality for the reasons I've outlined. It will definitely work reliably, but the tester could be a lot better if Sperry improved a few things.
