Not worth buying

Two probes will not stay in the grooves on the side of the unit. The metal pins you insert into the socket don't go far enough to make contact with the metal inside the socket.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Very expensive

A practical alternative to an expensive VOM meter

This is a great product for anyone interested in electricity. There are people without hope. If your brother-in-law can't pee out of a "man's shoe" with instructions on the heel, forget it. I use mine all the time.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Protection

This is the second one I have

I bought the second one because I liked and used the old one. I'm a master carpenter and maintenance technician. I need an AC inductance tester (as well as a continuity tester) all the time. I keep it in my truck where I always know it's there. This is the best "wiggy" block I've found. Oh and I couldn't find it in any store except Amazon.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Negative impression

You will love it and never use those older and more expensive meters.

This tool is a handyman's dream tool!. Other meters require you to turn the dial to the expected current/continuity/voltage or pull the wire to change from ohms to volts etc., but with this meter all you have to do is push a button and touch the wires to the pins. - without errors! if there is a surprise. ie grounded wire or open circuit, that tells you straight. and on top of that there is a non-contact current test. That's a bomb. The price makes it a must have for anyone working with…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

They sent me a new one

It took almost a year before the wires failed. contacted Sperry support and left a message 4 days ago. I don't think they will call back. So I will try again. I have owned a Sperry clamp meter for over 10 years with no problems. I keep them both in the same case and they still look like new. It is most likely just a defect. I just hope they do the right thing. Your site comes with a lifetime guarantee. Just to let everyone know this is not a Revain issue. That's what Sperry is responsible for…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

It will work. to voltage testers

First I'll tell you what I liked about this tester and second I'll tell you what I didn't like. This tester has a nice loud through tone. The non-contact voltage detector is a nice extra feature that works very well. Depending on your preference, you might like the thinner body of this tester. I've had testers that feel thick in the hand, but this one is comfortable for me. I like two separate test leads. I hate testers that have a separate line and one built into the tester. Now for what I…
