Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

Because aliexpress allows confusion in the reviews about processors, I clarify - we are talking about 9900K. Pros: 1) Productive. Faster than my previous 6700K, which I upgraded to make editing and processing 4K video easier in Premiere. Adobe software loves powerful cores, and the 9900K does just fine with that. At the moment, there is simply no better processor in this regard. Accordingly, there is a difference in games. FPS is objectively more. Plus, where the 6700K dropped the frametime shelf, the 9900K holds it perfectly, even with a 720p stream running in parallel and a bunch of applications in the background. This is already a merit of 8/16 instead of 4/8 at an even higher than the old i7 IPC. 2) Powerful memory controller (KP). A standard peer-to-peer 2 * 8GB kit (subject to the availability of an appropriate motherboard) on Samsung B-Die chips (3200Mhz@CL14) takes 4400MHz@CL17 without any problems. Not bad. On this, the pluses end: 1) The processor is getting hot. Everything is not so scary if you do not save on the mat. board and do not overclock the memory. We take Maximus APEX with powerful VRMs capable of keeping the minimum voltage without surges, we overclock the cores to 5GHz + and under such conditions, the temperatures will fluctuate around 89 degrees in stress tests and about 60 in games (Results of the Noctua NH-U14S cooler). But this way we greatly underestimate the performance. So, we are overclocking the memory, and please . 100+ degrees during the passage of the same LinPack are provided. If you add a cheap board that overestimates the VCore to this, the temperatures will be even higher. One more minus follows from this, and more specifically, the exactingness of the CPU to the quality of the mat. boards, case ventilation, cooler/LSS quality. 2) Not everything is so rosy in terms of streaming, which was an unpleasant surprise. 720p pulls without problems, FHD is not always the case. With Witcher 3, PUBG, CS, Quake Champions copes, in some other titles 8/16 capacities for comfortable streaming in FHD@60FPS are no longer enough. Bottom line: A powerful CPU that lasted a year in the top segment. All because of the desire of intel to respond to a competitor with the same number of cores, but I want more.

Pros
  • Performance per core, cache size, multi-threaded performance, factory clocks, memory controller.
Cons
  • Heat dissipation, rapid loss of product relevance.
