This is the perfect baby blanket. It's warm but not too hot and you can breathe in it. When I feed him, he covers him and me with enough room to pull him (in every direction he can think of) without exposing me. He can breathe underneath. I don't have to worry so much that it suffocates him. A blanket is enough for both of us if he is on my chest or in my arms and my legs are under him. It keeps you super warm without getting hot. Definitely soft! I bought 3 because now he takes one when he wants to go to bed. So I take one with me, keep one in our room and the other in our family room. LOVE this blanket.
