This item is amazing! I wish I had known this for the last 20 years of my life as a cat owner! I have 2 cats. One is small and slim, the other huge (probably a Maine Coon mix). I also have 2 dogs, one of which lives in the litter box. I was worried my XL cat wouldn't be able to get through the door with it, but she has no problem. My dog has tried to get it but to no avail and she is strong. It was very easy to install. There was no glue left so I used the screws that came with it. It was very easy to install by yourself, it took about 5 minutes. I placed it where my 6 year old can reach but not so low that the dog can open it with his nose. It's very easy to use.
