Once you get the hang of the values, which isn't too difficult, this controller is very easy to set up. SV is the temperature you want to maintain. Cd is the value you add to SV to make your cooler fire when the temperature is above Cd and Hd is the value you subtract from SV to make your heater fire when the temperature falls below that value. I set SV to 78. Cd, which is a fan, is set to 1 and Hd is set to 2. So when the temperature reaches 79 the exhaust fan turns on and cools the room down to 78. When the temperature drops below 76 then the heater turns on and heats the room back up to 78. I think the only thing that confuses people is that the Hd value doesn't show up with a minus sign (-) next to it. I used to use a terrarium controller that only controls heat and my exhaust was on all the time which meant my heater was on almost all the time. With this amazing product my exhaust fan now does most of the work by turning on for a few seconds about every minute or two and my heater only really comes on at night when the lights are off. This saves me a lot of electricity costs. More importantly, the temperature in my grow room is very stable compared to before. The temp was constantly fluctuating between 70 and 82 throughout the day, now it stays between 76 and 80 while mostly hovering around 78 and going back to 78 very quickly on high/low readings where it used to take a while. and never stabilized. This controller is perfect for cultivation. Your tomato plants will thank you and your wallet will thank you when the electricity bill comes. The only issue I had is that I didn't realize they also sell 15 amp controllers. I would prefer these as my heaters are approaching 10 amps on their low settings. A 15 amp model would allow me to max them out. Also, I noticed that one of the dials read about 6 degrees below the actual temperature. However, you can easily calibrate it by changing the CA value. For myself I set it to -6 and it is perfectly accurate now.
