Great product, I found a video on YouTube that helps with setup, it was a lot easier than instructions! ten degrees below the actual temperature you need. Why? Because the heating element determines how long it stays hot! In other words, if you want to heat to 170F to prevent exceeding it, you may need to set the SV to 160-165 depending on the heating element. Then set (HD) Heat Difference to compensate for the cooling of the heating element! In one pan 3 degrees, in the other 10 degrees, the…

This temperature controller is amazing! So easy to use and set up. My Red Sea 250 which I just got from a friend heats water very easily thanks to the T5 it runs on. This device was the key to solving my problem without spending a fortune on an aquarium cooler. I just bought a stainless steel coil that is used in brewing, attached a hose to the water pump so it runs from the sump through the unit and back. I then bought an Ozark Trail cooler with padded sides and a zippered top. Place the coil…

I've had mine for about two weeks and overall I'm happy with it.

This is essential if you keep a reef aquarium and a good buy when you consider that just buying a digital thermometer with alarm is more than 35 costs US dollars per retail. . Having worked in fish shops for years, I've heard that the number one reason people lose their aquariums (apart from impulse purchases, not quarantines) is when their aquarium gets too hot or too cold due to a heater failure. . This device has a built-in alarm that you can set to let you know when the tank is about to…

Ideal for indoor/tent growing

Once you get the hang of the values, which isn't too difficult, this controller is very easy to set up. SV is the temperature you want to maintain. Cd is the value you add to SV to make your cooler fire when the temperature is above Cd and Hd is the value you subtract from SV to make your heater fire when the temperature falls below that value. I set SV to 78. Cd, which is a fan, is set to 1 and Hd is set to 2. So when the temperature reaches 79 the exhaust fan turns on and cools the room down…
