This temperature controller is amazing! So easy to use and set up. My Red Sea 250 which I just got from a friend heats water very easily thanks to the T5 it runs on. This device was the key to solving my problem without spending a fortune on an aquarium cooler. I just bought a stainless steel coil that is used in brewing, attached a hose to the water pump so it runs from the sump through the unit and back. I then bought an Ozark Trail cooler with padded sides and a zippered top. Place the coil in the fridge with both hoses exiting the same side, add a couple of 2 liter or 1 liter bottles of frozen water and some ice or freezer bags. Instant water cooler for about $140. Connect the water pump for the cooling coil to the "cold" plug on the controller box and the heater to the "heater", set the temperature to 78 degrees and your chosen spread (I chose half a degree) ; Problem solved! The great thing is that there is no noise, heat or high power that an aquarium cooler can have. It worked perfectly! The 2 liter ice bottles I use last all day. Put the second set in the freezer and just swap out in the morning. The temperature control unit worked perfectly, also the pump at 78.5 or the heater at 77.5. Highly recommended!
