Review on 🧭 Sighting Compass Mirror Adjustable Declination: The Ultimate Boy Scout Compass for Hiking, Survival, Map Reading, Orienteering, Hunting, Fishing, Military Operations, and Waterproof Backpacking Camping by Jose Guzman

Lots of features, good value and easy to use

First of all it pays homage to a compass from another brand but at a much lower price. However, it's actually a pretty good compass with the right expectations. It features a target mirror, rotating bezel, inclinometer and adjustable declination, along with a traditional magnifying lens and map-scale measurements. Even the target marks, cardinal points and (curiously) the reference axis of the compass needle are provided with luminous paint. The compass is quite easy to use and can be very accurate. However, at this price point you have to be prepared to accept some quirks and this compass has a few. First, while several points on the compass and bezel have been treated with luminescent paint, the arrow is an oversight; missed his share of that coverage. This means that the compass, with all its features, is best used in daylight. An inclinometer (a thoughtful addition) requires a steady hand and patience. Overall I would recommend this compass. It would be a great "upgrade" from a simpler compass or a great trainer for kids. (Actually, my kids quickly got the hang of it and spent happy hour "navigating" the family room.)
