Review on TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Dual Band Wireless AC Gigabit Router - Renewed with Two USB Ports, IPv6 and Guest Network by Aashiva Pal ᠌

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Real junk, such a terrible quality still needs to be searched.

I made the mistake of buying it to update my antiquated Apple Time Capsule 3TB, and now I regret it. The 7th archer is going to accompany me to the store today. Even when it is in direct line of sight, the router has very poor performance when the distance is between 3 and 5 meters. All 5 GHz network configurations, including the exclusive use of ac mode, were put through their paces during testing. Since the Apple TimeCapsule generates a signal of consistent quality, there is no interference in the immediate area. My service provider offers me a network that is 100 megabits in capacity. While a cable connection established through a Time Capsule reliably demonstrates results (SpeedTest) ranging from 94/93 to 94/85 Mbit/s, a TP-Link Archer 7 always produces unsatisfactory outcomes. The speed fluctuates during the test and frequently decreases to 24/16 MBit/s, and while it occasionally reaches the TimeCapsule values in terms of speed, it never gives a stable picture like it does on TC and instead only floats values. Many times, the connection to the Internet is completely severed. I believe there is a problem with the processor. I have no idea how many users (I have about ten devices at home) will struggle to find a connection through a TP-Link (a dissonant name, by the way). When I attempted to download a test file from the internet without using speedtest, I received a download speed of 4 MB/s, the file size was slightly less than 1 Gigabyte, the time it took was approximately 170 seconds, but the Internet connection was simply interrupted by 80% of the time. In the same breath, I have complete faith in everything, including the wires, connections, gigabit network, and service provider. In addition, on the server from which I retrieved the file to my computer. Personal server. It's possible that I came across a faulty device, because if you read the reviews, the piece of iron is praised as being nothing short of miraculous. But! What exactly is a wedding? It's possible that some of the electronic components refuse to work when the load is increased. I am unsure of that. As for the firmware, the native version, which was also the most recent, was already installed at the factory, so there is nothing else that needs to be done. Firmware with the revision number V4 and the date March 2022. And yes, I do constitute those. the expert, whose knowledge of iron, networks, and protocols, among other things, I share. A significant advantage is that IPv6 can be obtained straight away (6k4) and does not require any tambourine dancing. Everything is in working order apart from the lack of soft settings, but there are plenty of those. To start, the connection speed is significantly slowed down by all of the firewalls and other goodies.

Pros
  • Easy to use configuration interface
Cons
  • Even with all filters disabled, it slows down wired and wireless connections, the speed varies quite a bit, the processor is loaded with a single connection to the extent that 70–80% of its capacity is used, and there are frequent instances of the connection dropping out.
