Review on πŸ—οΈ BRIO Builder Construction Building Blocks by Mike Davan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good starter kit but look for larger kits for versatility.

A small starter set for small children and primary school age with various tools and components made of plastic and wood. In general, the number of real parts is quite small (20 real parts out of 135 advertised, the rest are accessories, tools and equipment). There are only 3 wooden blocks with holes on all sides that you can use to build multiple airplanes. The tools are of good quality and serve their purpose. The wood is smooth, high quality solid wood and plastic materials are well made. There's a two-page color brochure showing a few ready-made design ideas, but I think Brio would do well to take on more projects, particularly teaching young children how to use gear and supplies. The box was made out of thin cardboard, so the entire contents were placed in a plastic shoe box with a bit more space for storage. If I had been sure from the start that my children would enjoy this Brio, I would have gone for a larger set like the Brio Creative Set. This material is expensive and there aren't many kit options. If you expand this set, you've spent over $100 on the building collection.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Hard to say
