Review on Prodyne FI 3 Infusion Flavor Pitcher by Lamar Vanderburg

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Use very carefully

I am very disappointed in the Prodyne fruit brewer. After three short months, the plastic ring on the lid that holds the strainer broke. I have never put it in the dishwasher and have only gently hand washed it a few times. So now it is impossible to screw the teapot onto the lid. I can still use it by floating the brewer in the jug, but water gets into the brewer, causing the fruit to soften. It doesn't look that pretty on a table with a beer brewer floating in it, which was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place; I thought it was a good serving piece. If I wanted the pulp to just float in a jar, I already had the technology without spending $20. Not well made and waste of money. Revain asked me to contact the company to resolve the issue so we'll see what happens. SINCE I WROTE THIS REVIEW, THE COMPANY SENT ME A NEW CAP WITH A WARNING THAT THE INFUSER WAS NOT ATTACHED TO THE CAP TOO STRONGLY. So far, so good. I'm only giving it three stars anyway because the jug was supposed to come with instructions saying so.

Pros
  • BPA free acrylic jug has a detachable hollow stem that can be filled with fruit, citrus slices, herbs or savory dishes
Cons
  • unreliable
