Review on Canon 50Mm Compact Macro Lens by Tammy Kaiser

This is the perfect lens for my needs and requirements. My needs are versatility and great looks. My aspirations are satisfying ride characteristics, obvious structural strength, proven durability, and absolute precision. My optical performance requirements are even higher. Another factor in choosing this lens was its conversion from 50mm macro on a Canon full-frame camera to 80mm macro on a Canon APS camera. The lack of a USM motor is less of a hindrance in my opinion - it clicks and defocuses at an acceptable rate. My only recommendation is to buy one quickly! They have been on the market as they are since 1987. I have a feeling this particular lens will soon be replaced by a cheaper, less well-made one, if at all - as was the case with the excellent 50mm metal mount. f1.8 MK I lens.
