I also have another Huepar laser (2D - 902CG) so I am writing this based on some experience with this brand. The first LS03CG (3D) I received was poorly packaged by the shipper and when I tried it the lasers didn't fire when I unlocked them. Obviously something happened along the way. I sent it back and Revain promptly sent a replacement unit, this time wrapped in bubble wrap. Let's start at the top - it's nice to have a hard case with this laser. My other 2D laser came with a cloth case that was useless. However, the case needs a way to hold the batteries, charging port, and cable in place. When the case hits, the 2 batteries, charging connector and USB-C cable will detach. Maybe that's what happened to the first one I got. It would be easy to put a piece of styrofoam on top of the batteries and hold them in place and I will most likely do that. I have other things at home that now use the USB-C cable so I don't have to keep it with the laser as I have it somewhere. 2 rechargeable batteries are ideal for this laser. I've only had them a few days but they charge quickly and I believe they will last much longer than the AA as my 2D laser eats them up and that was my biggest complaint about it. The battery pack is a little tricky to connect and disconnect from the laser - so much so that you feel like you're doing something wrong. But I would have preferred a good snug fit - and a battery that doesn't come loose or fly away if dropped etc. The dust cover for the charging port on the laser is also a bit difficult to open but again - I really appreciate the good fit. There are 3 different buttons on the laser itself to choose between the functions. Horizontal, Vertical and Pulse/Off. Having these options is great as my 2D laser only has one and you have to cycle through all the options. Inside the house, the laser lines are clear and easy to see with the green beam. They're not very visible on the street in daylight, of course, but if you get a Huepar laser detector (I have one too), it'll easily catch the beam in Pluse mode during the day. I also tried the laser at night - and it threw a very visible beam two houses away in different directions - as it wasn't a crawler and measuring - I'd say it was over 200 feet away. The laser body is "hardened" with some kind of rubber material on all corners of the laser body except for the laser body itself. I haven't dropped any of my Huepar lasers so I can't comment on how durable they are in that regard. I wish the magnetic mount it came with had micro or fine height adjustment, but if you have an adjustable tripod and a little patience you can set the laser exactly where you need it. Overall - I think this laser is a great deal - and if you look closely - there's usually a coupon or discount on Revain for each of the Huepar items. I bought mine for $144 with taxes.
